Did you know? We refer to an instructor as “Sensei”, which means one who has been before and generally means teacher, once they reach the grade of 1st Dan Black Belt.
Head Coaches
Our team of Head Coaches are all have DBS Enhanced Clearances (including barred lists), relevant First Aid qualifications, and are Registered Instructors with the British Combat Karate Association, holding appropriate insurances. At any given class you will meet at least one of our Head Coaches;
Shihan Brian Whatford
Chief Instructor, 6th Dan
Shihan Brian has nearly 40 years of experience in Martial Arts, holds a 6th Dan in Karate Jutsu, a 2nd Dan in Torite Jutsu, English Kata Champion and is a Dragon Society International Certified Instructor.

Sensei Neil Flowers
Assistant Chief Instructor, 5th Dan
Sensei Neil has nearly 25 years of experience in Martial Arts, currently holding a 5th Dan in Karate Jutsu, a 2nd Dan in Torite Jutsu, and is a Dragon Society International Certified Instructor.

Sensei Martin Bees
Head Coach, 3rd Dan
Sensei Martin has nearly 25 years of experience in Martial Arts, and currently holds a 3rd Dan in Karate Jutsu.

Sensei Matt Johnson
Head Coach, 1st Dan
Sensei Matt has been training in Martial Arts since the 90s, is former law enforcement, and level 3 childcare qualified.
